(note: The Woman's Bible is a two-part book, written by Elizabeth Cady Stanton and a committee of 26 women, and published in 1895 and 1898 to challenge the traditional position of religious orthodoxy that woman should be subservient to man.)

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image after our likeness:

and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl

of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every

creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth 27 So God created man in

his own image, in the image of God created he him: male and female

image, created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and

multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion

over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every

living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Here is the sacred historian's first account of the advent of woman; a

simultaneous creation of both sexes, in the image of God. It is evident

from the language that there was consultation in the Godhead, and that

the masculine and feminine elements were equally represented. Scott in

his commentaries says, "this consultation of the Gods is the origin of

the doctrine of the trinity." But instead of three male personages, as

generally presented, a Heavenly Father, Mother, and Son would seem

more rational.

The first step in the elevation of woman to her true position, as an

equal factor in human progress, is the cultivation of the religious

sentiment in regard to her dignity and equality, the recognition by the

rising generation of an ideal Heavenly Mother, to whom their prayers

should be addressed, as well as to a Father.

If language has any meaning, we have in these texts a plain

declaration of the existence of the feminine element in the Godhead,

equal in power and glory with the masculine. The Heavenly Mother and

Father! "God created man in his own image, male and female." Thus

Scripture, as well as science and philosophy, declares the eternity

and equality of sex—the philosophical fact, without which there could

have been no perpetuation of creation, no growth or development in the

animal, vegetable, or mineral kingdoms, no awakening nor progressing in

the world of thought. The masculine and feminine elements, exactly

equal and balancing each other, are as essential to the maintenance of

the equilibrium of the universe as positive and negative electricity,

the centripetal and centrifugal forces, the laws of attraction which

bind together all we know of this planet whereon we dwell and of the

system in which we revolve.

In the great work of creation the crowning glory was realized, when

man and woman were evolved on the sixth day, the masculine and feminine

forces in the image of God, that must have existed eternally, in all

forms of matter and mind. All the persons in the Godhead are

represented in the Elohim the divine plurality taking counsel in regard

to this last and highest form of life. Who were the members of this

high council, and were they a duality or a trinity? Verse 27 declares

the image of God male and female. How then is it possible to make woman

an afterthought? We find in verses 5-16 the pronoun "he" used. Should

it not in harmony with verse 26 be "they," a dual pronoun? We may

attribute this to the same cause as the use of "his" in verse 11

instead of "it." The fruit tree yielding fruit after "his" kind instead

of after "its" kind. The paucity of a language may give rise to many

misunderstandings.

The above texts plainly show the simultaneous creation of man and

woman, and their equal importance in the development of the race. All

those theories based on the assumption that man was prior in the

creation, have no foundation in Scripture.

As to woman's subjection, on which both the canon and the civil law

delight to dwell, it is important to note that equal dominion is given

to woman over every living thing, but not one word is said giving man

dominion over woman.

Here is the first title deed to this green earth giving alike to the

sons and daughters of God. No lesson of woman's subjection can be

fairly drawn from the first chapter of the Old Testament

Commentary on the “Garden of Eden, temptation by the Serpent” story:

Note the significant fact that we always hear of the "fall of man,"

not the fall of woman, showing that the consensus of human thought has

been more unerring than masculine interpretation. Reading this

narrative carefully, it is amazing that any set of men ever claimed

that the dogma of the inferiority of woman is here set forth. The

conduct of Eve from the beginning to the end is so superior to that of

Adam. The command not to eat of the fruit of the tree of Knowledge was

given to the man alone before woman was formed. Genesis ii, 17.

Therefore the injunction was not brought to Eve with the impressive

solemnity of a Divine Voice, but whispered to her by her husband and

equal. It was a serpent supernaturally endowed, a seraphim as Scott and

other commentators have claimed, who talked with Eve, and whose words

might reasonably seem superior to the second-hand story of her

companion nor does the woman yield at once. She quotes the command not

to eat of the fruit to which the serpent replies "Dying ye shall not

die," v. 4, literal translation. In other words telling her that if the

mortal body does perish, the immortal part shall live forever, and

offering as the reward of her act the attainment of Knowledge.

Then the woman fearless of death if she can gain wisdom takes of the

fruit; and all this time Adam standing beside her interposes no word of

objection. "Her husband with her" are the words of v. 6. Had he been

the representative of the divinely appointed head in married life, he

assuredly would have taken upon himself the burden of the discussion

with the serpent, but no, he is silent in this crisis of their fate.

Having had the command from God himself he interposes no word of

warning or remonstrance, but takes the fruit from the hand of his wife

without a protest. It takes six verses to describe the "fall" of

woman, the fall of man is contemptuously dismissed in a line and a half.

The subsequent conduct of Adam was to the last degree dastardly. When

the awful time of reckoning comes, and the Jehovah God appears to

demand why his command has been disobeyed, Adam endeavors to shield

himself behind the gentle being he has declared to be so dear. "The

woman thou gavest to be with me, she gave me and I did eat," he whines—

trying to shield himself at his wife's expense! Again we are amazed

that upon such a story men have built up a theory of their superiority!

From the time when we are born, we are told how girls should and should not behave, and it's made very clear to us that the rules that society sets down for women are very different than the rules that are set down for men. We're told that girls don't run fast, we don't climb trees, we don't talk back, and to dream of growing up to be president is something that just can't be taken seriously. In order to be beautiful, we must be as thin and svelte as the models that are portrayed to us in magazines. And, even in this day and age, we are expected to be demure in our sexuality.

And yet, every day at the Dominion, and other femdom sims throughout sl, I see women who have dared to step outside of the box that we were told that we must fit into as we were growing up. Women who have claimed their own power and their own sexuality and who proudly call themselves Mistress... Domina... Goddess.

For some women, it is still only here in this virtual world that they allow themselves the freedom of being the unexpected. For others, it carries over into their first lives and first relationships. But, either way, I know that with every person who allows themselves to see, or to experience or to become a part of a community where women make their own rules and take control of their sexuality.. that the world gains a little more understanding and acceptance.... not just for Dominant women, but for all of us who dare to be something different.

During this weekend of celebrating Dominant women, I want to encourage each and every one of you to remember that it is up to us to teach our daughters and our grand daughters that they can forge their own paths and become who and what they want in their hearts to be.. not just in their professional lives, but in their personal relationships as well. It is up to us to teach them that there can be pride in being different and that beauty is more than skin deep.

If you are an avid designer, photographer, decorator, or want to try something new, this is the event for you. A SPECIAL INTERNATIONAL FEMDOM DAY CONTEST!

Femdom Network Design Star Contest: The Femdom Bedroom

Description: So you like to decorate and think you are really good at it. Well here is your chance to prove it. Pick up the Design Star Contest box at The Queendom of Bouddicea. Rezz the room and decorate. You must texture and/or color the walls, ceiling and floor. You may not change the size or structure of the room, windows and door. Use whatever furniture you like, then photograph the finished room. Write a brief description about your room and submit it on a notecard named ‘Femdom Design Star Contest: Your name’ and send it to AngelRose Boucher. Be sure your picture is full perm... if it is not it will be disqualified.

Details: The room is 25 prims and is a a little larger than 15x15.

Design the Rules:

1. Only one picture may be submitted. (It may be a collage.) It must be full permissions.

2. Only one submission per person.

3. Your entry must be submitted to Lady AngelRose Boucher by midnight SLT of July 22, 2010.

4. Voting will take place on Saturday July 24th, 2010 at our International Femdom Day Event. Only one vote per person.

5. The 3 rooms that receive the majority votes will then be judged on design merit and awarded first second and third by the owners of the involved Femdoms.

Pro Mujer and The Femdom Network

The Femdom Network has chosen to support the charity Pro Mujer during our Femdom Day Event this weekend, March 6 & 7. Pro Mujer provides Latin America's poorest women with the means to build livelihoods for themselves and futures for their families through microfinance, business training, and healthcare support. 2nd Annual Convergence of Femdom Organisations in the World of Second LIfe

On March 6th and 7th, the 2nd Annual Femdom Day will be a gathering of prominent Femdom organisations in Second Life, designed to coincide with International Womens Day and to be a celebration of Empowerment, Education and Entertainment.

Last year, FemDom Day was an historic success, with attendance in the thousands and an impressive array of displays and events that spoke to the diversity of Femdom culture. This year, FD2010 will focus on a greater range of events, from the educational and inspirational to the entertaining and provocative.

Proceeds from FD2010 will benefit Pro Mujer, a global organisation that promotes and enables Women In Business throughout the world, through an innovative micro-loan and education program. Pro Mujer helps Women who, in turn, help their communities.

FemDom Day 2010 is produced by The Femdom Network, an active coalition of Second Life's influential and thought-leading Female-Led communities. FemNet produces many events throughout the year and works hard to maintain standards and promote Female-Led ideals, culture and society in the world of Second Life

FALL Femdom Limerick Contest starts NOW

On Sunday at noon SLT we will have a reading of Femdom Limericks from last season's Femdom Limerick contest (come and listen..it's like poetry! but more fun!)

This also marks the beginning of the FALL Femdom Limerick Contest and we will be accepting submission through the end of October.

Don't know the exact structure of a limerick? Research it! There are always good prizes for the top 3 submissions, and the limericks are collected into a volume that will be published.

Sunday, September 20th at 12 noon SLT, The Dominion Femdom will be holding a special Mistress Mentoring Event as part of The Femdom Network's Back To School Event. This will be an exclusive gathering hosted by Dominion's Mistress Mentors, High Mistress Destiny Teardrop, Esteemed Lady Syriana Paine, and Esteemed Lady Ravanys Lavendel. Expect great conversation filled with shared lessons and experiences and some fun surprises.

There is limited space available for this event and pre-registration is required by Wednesday, September 16th at 12 noon SLT. Access will be limited and we will not be able to make exceptions for those wanting to attend at the last minute.

I Don't Love Calling Men Stupid....But....

While I do see those that seem to enjoy cursing at, insulting, or otherwise verbally degrading men, that has never been my way. Why? The Sisterhood likes, wants and loves men that are NOT stupid, so an attempt is made to improve them, or at least inspire them to show greater effort. In other words, no laziness, no slowness and no stupidity. A worshiper who is any of those things is useless. (other 'femdom communities' seem to tolerate lazy worms, but I simply cannot) This is about the future, after all.

Why do I bring up this topic?
Because I have found some very stupid men lately.
It's partly because I use certain 'tests' to separate the truly worthless ones from the ones that might give pleasure.
One such test:
When a slave 'misbehaves' or does anything rude, stupid or unacceptable (even the best ones make mistakes now and then), I do not forgive them. Never. Forgiveness is not automatic process and thy must WORK to get back in favor. It's one reason I tell them that apologies are not accepted here, only explanations and fixes.
When a man 'messes up' bad enough to be banned from the city, I ban him. When he cries to come back and 'promises' to be better, I use my test:
1. The slave must do 3 things to get back in favor (I call them labors).
2. Here is the key, though. I will NEVER tell the slave what to do. The slave MUST give me a list of proposed labors he thinks I will like and accept. He must be 'creative' We negotiate over the list. If 3 are decided upon, he must then do all 3 BEFORE I un-ban him.
This test forces the man to create his own labors and tests his laziness.
Why should WE do the work to give orders, when the slave shoudl figure things out?
They will NOT get better unless they try!
Sadly, I am calling some men STUPID lately because some of them cannot think of 3 labors to even START this process. Thsi really separates the lazy from the ones with passion. And yes, a lazy man is never passionate enough!

Men are like Cats!

It occurred to me in a conversation with Kris today, and after reflection on the strange ways of men that seem to manifest almost daily, that we have been the victims of some really funny patriarchal propaganda for a long time. The notion that men are like dogs and somehow Women are like cats.......pure (though subtle) propaganda! How many do you see in the 'femdom' world referring to men as dogs, for example. (even dressing them up as dogs!) How many crazy similarities are drawn between Women and cats in pop culture?
Here is my thought..my BIG thought.
Men are like Cats!
Dogs, after all, are typically loyal above all else. They live to love. They are social. They are sensitive to the emotions, feelings and every nuance of those around them. THAT does not sound like men in any way! Men are not dogs at all!
But cats.....
Cats are only around as long as they are being 'fed'. (think about it) If they love, it is not particularly obvious beyond an occasional physical action (rubbing against you and moaning), They like to tear apart things that mean something to you, and they are solitary...NOT social. Men are cats!
Another myth and manipulation of the patriarchy....exposed!

Empty Profile? No Problem!

I want to share with anyone who is interested a fun little game I play called Empty Profile. I use this when a slave, for whatever reason, has an empty profile (in the About section) and has been inworld for more than 2 weeks. The way I see it (agree with me or not), a slave with an empty profile is expressing laziness, extreme boringness, immaturity, or worse yet, unable to express anything at all (does not bode well for emoting later on). When I see this, I always advise the slave to write SOMETHING. if they don't or won't, I offer to give them text to use until such time as they do it themselves. Amazingly, some of them go for it and use what I give them.
Here is what I give them to copy and paste. Feel free to modify this for your own use!! This has been the source of some great amusement for myself and others.

Goddess Gina (Ginette Pinazzo) told me to fill in my profile but I lacked the imagination to do it, so she made me write this. She is always right, of course. She is a Goddess from the center of the Universe. If you think this is funny, IM her and tell her so.

Yesterday's Femdom Network Romance Ball was a big success with the sim filled to overflowing for the whole event. Everyone looked fantastic and it was truly wonderful to see all of our members mingling and enjoying the lovely music provided by Lady Eloise Mureaux.

I heard many compliments about the decor which was designed and assembled by Lady Chantall Congrejo of The Velvet Attic. Thank you again Chantall for a fantastic job.

Many people also enjoyed the photos provided by Lady Tamar Silverstar of Alfheimr. It was a great service to offer to our guests.

I know the other members of The Femdom Network join me in thanking everyone who came out to celebrate with us last night. We all appreciate your support of the Femdom Community in Second Life.

This past week The Femdom Network banded together to help our sister and fellow Femdom Lady Pheonix Fulham of Rising Pheonixx. Lady Delores Beaumont put out the call:

Hello Friends

I am fundraising to raise enough lindens to buy a mobility scooter for a dear friend and well known Mistress in sl, her name is Pheonixx Fulham and she is the owner of the Pheonix Rising femdom sim. She is ill and has been unable to leave her home for a long time untill recently when a family member hired one of these scooters for a day, she was able to go out and do some shopping and would like to have one to use whenever she is able. If you would like to help us by placing a donation box or holding an event please let me know, the money will be held in a completely separate account so it can be inspected any time as to how it is used. Our target is 150, 000 Lindens

The Femdom Network Standards

1. All members pledge to work towards the growth of the Femdom movement in Second Life, with the spirit of sisterhood in which the network was formed.

2. All members pledge to run ethical operations that do not promote or support illegal business practices, or nonconsensual BDSM.

3. All members agree that Femdom Network events, cross advertising and promotion are to be used to offer our members more variety and information about the Femdom movement in Second Life, not to actively solicit other Femdom's clientele.

4. All Network members are strongly encouraged to display an official board, provided by the Network, that carries all members logos and information. If you choose to not display a board your logo will not be included on the official board displayed at other Femdoms.

5. All members agree to act honestly, openly, and productively in all of their communications within the Network and agree to not sabotage or disrupt the business of their sister Femdoms.
